Mrs. Hettie Hostetter, 75, well known former resident of Roachdale died Tuesday morning at the home of her son Curtis at Rockville. She had been seriously ill only a short time and had been in failing health for a year. Mrs. Hostetter had lived with her son at Rockville since the death of her husband D. B. Hostetter. She was born near Ladoga May 29, 1865, the daughter of Samuel N. and Mary C. Harshbarger and was married October 17, 1888, to David B. Hostetter how died November 29, 1939. Mrs. Hostetter was a member of the Presbyterian church here, the Dorothy Q. Chapter, D.A. R. of Crawfordsville and Roachdale Chapter No. 247, O.E. S. Besides the husband one son Stuart and infant daughter Lois and a brother Charles Harshbarger preceded her in death. She is survived by four sons; Howard of Bainbridge, Ralph of Greencastle, Henry of Ft. Wayne and Curtis of Rockville, at whose home she died, one daughter, Mary of Indianapolis, a brother David H. Harshbarger of near here, five grandsons and one great-granddaughter. Funeral services were held this afternoon at the Presbyterian church with burial in the Ladoga cemetery. LaFollette Harshbarger, pioneer settlers of Montgomery county, was born near Ladoga, May 29, 1865, and departed this life April 23, 1940, living almost seventy five years.She was a member of the first graduating class of the Franklin township schools in 1884. In 1886 she attended Western College at Oxford, Ohio.
